Berley took up employment with NASPA on April 1st, 2014 as a Senior Technician. Berley was a jack of all trades. He was the MacGyver of NASPA. He worked at all of the ports and on nearly every piece of equipment, as he backed himself as a very technical person with skills in electricity, plumbing, electronics, air conditioning and sewage systems.
He had a passion for his field of work and got a lot of satisfaction in completing a task or solving a technical problem. He especially loved being in charge of little projects to feel a sense of responsibility. If you asked Berley a simple question such as, “Why is the light not working?” Be prepared for a long, scientific explanation about how the light fixture works. He would take you to timbuktu and back when all it boiled down to, was the changing of the bulb. He found delight in expressing how much technical knowledge he had.
Berley loved his job and always tried to find a fix for a problem. If he couldn’t resolve the specific issue, he would do by-pass surgery or come up with Plan B. He was a determined worker who was willing to help wherever he was needed.
We will definitely miss Berley and hearing one of the workers ask, “Where’s Berley? He nuh fix de pipe yet?”
We at NASPA are deeply saddened by his passing and offer sincere condolences to his family and friends. May his soul Rest In Eternal Peace.
